After thirty years working as a graphic designer, my practice has shifted from the clean precision of the screen to a more tactile, intuitive way of making.
I am really enjoying the physical process of experimenting with different media, keeping my work dynamic and a little unpredictable. My design background helps serve as the structural foundation for my practice helping me translate inspiration drawn from the natural world into more balanced compositions.
You can see from my drawings that I’m especially drawn to organic and expressive mark-making at the start of a project, building images through repetition and gesture. These marks often echo the curves and rhythms of my sculptural work, creating a natural dialogue between 2 & 3 dimensional forms.
I’m currently doing a BA in Fine Art & Contemporary Craft at West Dean which is helping me think more conceptually, exploring personal ideas and questions rather than creating purely for a clear commercial outcome.
I will be exhibiting at West Dean's Exhibition ‘Where Craft Lives’, 13th-15th May 2026, West Dean London Campus, Dilke House, 1 Malet Street, London, WCIE 7JN
